Growing up as a child and now as an adult, I’ve always been a chubby girl (meaning I’ve always struggled with my weight).
My excuse to myself whenever I climbed the scale was ‘mama said big bones run in the family..lol’.
My weight had never really bothered me, but knowing the health implications of being obessed I made a conscious effort to work on it.
Ill like to share what has worked for me and what no one told me would happen to my body; So here are the things I’ve tried in no particular order.
- Intermittent fasting
- Keto diet; …didn’t work for me as I gained all the weight back when I stopped.
- Exercising
- Slim tea

Intermittent fasting is something I’ve always done and still do, however I adjust the timing depending on my mood. Most of the time , I go without food for 8hrs after I wake up in the morning, and eat anytime before 7pm. I make sure I take lots of water while on it.
For exercising, i usually exercise at home at my pace by just skipping ropes and aerobics, however when I am not so motivated I join the gym, as a personal trainer would help push me to exercise, plus when I’m paying for it I force myself to show up.
While for slimming tea, I usually go for the good old green tea, you can try any brand but just make sure whatever pack you pick-up doesn’t contain sibutramine. On days when I’m feeling organic, I slice up some lemon in warm water and its refreshing.

What no one told me……
No one told me I would have to deal with a different pattern in menstrual cycle and that I was going to go a few inches down in cup size….well they also didn’t tell me I would have a better mood/less mood swings..so hey! They might as well not tell.
